As the title suggests, I'm looking for faster internet but can't really find the "perfect solution" of price and speed. I'm posting to see if anyone is getting a deal or is familiar with pricing structures to help me out...or maybe I just need to suck it up and pay seemingly outrageous prices.
I've got two options, Comcast and Qwest from where I live.
I'm currently paying around $30 a month, $15 to qwest and $15 to my ISP (Battlefoundry)
From what I can find,
Comcast - 15mbps(powerboost) is $57.95/month because I don't have any other services from Comcast
Qwest - Fastest speed to my house is 1.5mbps for $34.99/month IF I use MSN/Windows Live, $50/month if I use my own ISP ($25 to qwest, $25 to battlefoundry).
I've heard comcast offers economical cable at 1.5mbps, but I haven't managed to bump into it. Has anyone else heard of this?
Is MSN/Windows Live similar to AOL with it's own login prompts or can I use it merely as a service provider? Is MSN a pain in the ass to use?
Am I missing the sale of the year or is comcast the way to go?
