Looking for Fast Low Latency Memory

Like the topic states I am looking for the fastest rated memory that will last me a while with very low latency. What memory is most stable when overclocked and can still have low latency. I dont plan on overclocking to much. Currently I have a barton 2500 running at 3200 by just changing the fsb to 200, but the memory frequency is at 166. This is just generic 3200 DDR SDRAM, but want to get some thing top of the line. I was looking at the OCZ stuff and the corsair TwinX1024-4000 Pro as well. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

First of all try to increase the memory so you can run the barton 1:1. I know your ram is generic but it should still work at 3200 or 200mhz x 2 = its rated speed. Even if you run the ram at higher latency like 2.5-4-4-7 trust me you will not notice a large decrease in speed. Surely spending money on all new ram that has low latency for 512mb will cost you in the region of $120 - $140 and you might see a 2-3% in performance. Its just not worth it. But its up to you.

All search from newegg for convenience, I am sure you can find any of these cheaper on pricewatch.com and so on

If you plan to keep the speed at 200FSB (1:1 desirability then look at these).

Kingston HyperX Series 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 2-3-2-6 $66
Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, Low Latency 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 2-3-2-6 with Platinum Silver Heat Spreader $70
Mushkin 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200 2-3-2-6 Level One Dual Pack $119
OCZ Enhanced Latency Series Dual Channel Platinum 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200 2-2-3-5 $114

If you still want some overclocking headroom at low latency then you can get these for 216FSB+ :

Mushkin 512MB PC3500 Level II Dual Pack (2x256MB) 2-2-2-5 $185

Also you might want to do a search for OCZ 3500 Platinum Edition 2-2-2-5 but they are hard to find...

I dont see why you would want to buy anything higher for your barton unless you want some headroom for the future when you upgrade later to a new platform. However I doubt AMD Athlon 64 will need Ram speed in excess of 230FSB for a while with how poorly it overclock right now. If you are looking to upgrade to an intel plaform later then you could consider OCZ PC4200EL should be pretty good though. Think it over because I dont think an upgrade is worth it unless you really need it and your programs dont run well without it, or it helps to increase performance down the line significantly.

Hey thanks for all the advice. I am looking for some real fast memory that I can use on an intel system and be able to over clock. What would you recomend?? Thanks.
