Looking for Everyones Favorite Freeware for Malware and Adware removal...

Look into using non-signature based programs for protection and use recent clean images to "remove" malware.

Also, using a browser with security related extensions and keeping updated is a good idea.

You're already using the industry's best option with MalwareBytes Pro.

It's time to focus less on removal and more with not getting infected in the first place. It's time to move on from WinXP and anything less than IE11, unless you like spending your time removing malware.

I have not had a malware problem in about 10 years. Not one single instance. I like not having to use software to clean up what is preventable. Time to move on to a modern operating system.

That was an old sig... Fixed... I just noticed that whenever I'm surfing in IE 11, my laptop fan comes on because my CPU is hitting like 70-90% and I assumed it was Malwarebytes fighting something trying to take over the browser...

Open Resource Monitor and check exactly what is using those CPU cycles.

Adwcleaner, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, Herd Protect, Junkware Removal Tool, Avast Browser Cleaner, and one that always seems to save the day is Hitman Pro which will clean a system for free as long as it is not connected to a domain. These are the ones I recall offhand and use quite often but if I think of any other, I'll add 'em.

Within task manager, do you by chance notice any strange spoofed processes like conhost.exe, iexplore.exe, notepad.exe, etc.? I've encountered two systems with that issue and not even Hitman Pro fixed it, only a reformat did those systems any good.

Herdprotect. Uses 68 virus engines. It will take a very long time to scan and needs to be done twice. Also, if you use OpenDNS you need to disable it as the cloud service won't work. That's been my experience.

In case of a badly infected system, you may want to consider using an AV scanner totally outside of the operating system.
Note: all of these linked items are free of cost.
Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10

Dr. Web LiveCD-LiveUSB 9.0.0 (03/11/2016)

Alternative: create a bootable USB 3.0 thumb drive (32 Gb or larger) as a "Windows to Go" operating system, onto which would also be installed several AV/anti-malware scanners.
Aomei Partition Assistant 6.0

This free software allows creation of the bootable Win-to-Go USB thumb drive.

This anti-spyware scanner is especially good for finding browser cookie spyware:
SUPERAntiSpyware 6.0.1216

Bitdefender also has a Rescue disk and then there's Sardu which will put all these disks on one DVD.

I just have to say this right now. Ccleaner IS NOT a virus cleaner. I don't know why so many people on the Internet think that.
No but if you run CCleaner first it will delete a ton of files that your scanners won't have to scan which can save a lot of time. It's uninstaller can also be used to uninstall unwanted programs, toolbars, etc. Run CCleaner first before you run your scans.
