looking for drivers online

Question that's probably equal parts paranoid and naive...

when looking for drivers for various obscure bits of hardware when you can't find them on a manufacturer's site, are all the sites called variations of things like 'driversdownload' and 'drivers4u' etc that come up with google OK to trust? Seems to me such a site would be good vector for malware.

Any sites with lots of drivers that are known to be respectable?

I've used DriverGuide before to find odd or old drivers. Never had any problems with them.
