I posted this in the trade section of the forum and it was suggested to post it here as well.
Hello,
I am not quite sure if this is the proper place for me to be posting this, but I figured what the heck. I am the youth coordinator for a new Community Computer Lab, which was formed from a coalition between the Boys and Girls Club and California 4-H Youth Development Program. The purpose of this lab is to make computer access available to at risk youth and elders in a economically depressed area. We have found our location in a farming community of Exeter, California. Where we have been envolved in the building of a new community center, with a computer room. So here I am, I have a facility and no hardware. Well thats not entirely true, i have 5 486 25 mhz IBM ps/2's, and one 100 mhz pentium scsi machine for a server. 3com has so generously provided all the needed networking equipment (short of rj-45 cables). So here I am. And I might as well get to the point of the post huh? well ok. I am here to ask that if any of you out there has any old equipment that you would think about donation instead of trade/sell. For your donation you will recieve a full tax deduction for the value at its purchase. This could make your parts more valuable for tax reason then from regular sale. We will accept anything, however if you wish to donate a processor, pentium class or above processors are prefered. We are looking for parts as well as full computers. Thank you for your time.
If you would like to donate or have any further questions,
Please email me at mvds@jps.net
Thank you,
Matt Van der Staay.
