Looking for Crossfire & Dongle Clarification

For some of you, this may be the xxx time you've seen this question, but I didn't find it in my search.

For clarification, can I buy 2 ATI Crossfire Ready X1800XT & be done with it?

Does the system designate the 1st card as Master & the 2nd card as Slave?

No, you need one "Crossfire Edition" (master) and one regular (the link you dropped) card.

As said; You will need an X1800 Crossfire Edition master card and any X1800XT as the slave.

Can someone confirm which cards can be used in Crossfire without the dongle? I've read that some can with a driver, but I'd like clarification.

negative. I think that applies to the lower end cards but not without a small performance hit. Just use it 😛 it's not a big deal.
