looking for cpu for this mobo

I would recommend Q6600 its the best bang for the buck right now.


A CPU cannot bottleneck a GPU. In the majority of games the GPU will always be the bottleneck(limiting factor) regardless of what CPU you use. The 8600gt you posted is not really a gaming card and will certainly be a bottleneck in any modern gaming rig, the 8800gt is what you want for gaming

One other thing popped into my mind.

"I don't want to OC Cpu"

What you're saying is that you don't want me to suggest something like a $60 E2140 and tell you to clock it up to 3.6@+.02v (example) and tell you it's the best price/performance until some other overclock marvel comes out.

-BUT-

Don't limit yourself, few cpu's run at "full potential" stock. A Q6600 G0 has been said (by others) to OC well enough with non-stock cooling.


The CPU you sited is not compatible with that motherboard, as the board's FSB is 1066 where all the newer 45nm's are 1333fsb. (Correct me if I'm wrong) It's been stated before, and i'm going through these pains right now, that it's hard to buy for the future at this time.
 
This isnt answering your question, but I wouldn't get that motherboard.
PCI-E is 4x(!!!), your limited to 2GB of memory (go w/ DDR2 as its cheap, but im guessing you have DDR400 and an AGP video card which is why your buying this _ _ _ mobo).
If you have DDR400, go w/ a 800FSB cpu.
If you have to buy your ram, buy ddr2 (cheap) and run it 1:1 w/ your FSB.

So the best cpu for this budget board/setup I would say is the E2200 as it cost the least ammt of money per MHz at stock speed.
