Looking for colored (orange) Blu Ray drive: internal or external

The interwebs have failed me, or at least that provided by our major search engines.

I haven't found it on the major retailers of hardware either.

Does anyone know what brands/retailers may carry an orange internal or external Blu Ray drive?

I know they make them, it was an option when i got the system from ibuypower. They don't sell drives individually though.

ibuypower probably just paints them themselves. Blu-Ray drives are still in the minority and not enough of a commodity for people to specialize in colored faceplates. Best bet is to do as zagood says and remove the faceplate and just spray paint that sucker.

Been using laptop at home for a few years and buying first desktop since 1999. I thought i'd go a little overboard on it. Will be doing some video editing, building a website, working from home and some gaming. Decided to hold on the blu-ray for now and will get one later.

-note: they had a deal on the memory, so I only got 6 for now. Will upgrade as needed.

I also have ordered two 24" Samsung P2450H monitors.

I've built a few computers, but when i added up all the parts on newegg, the price difference was < $100 on this. I'll pay that for someone to do and verify the built + a good warranty. I just didn't feel like paying the extra $170 for the blu-ray burner (orange) when all i wanted was a reader, which didn't come in the matching color. I'll probably just get an external when needed.

Remove the faceplate and paint it. Making colored stuff at the factory is almost never a profitable venue for most manufacturers.

I have a car. I also get to bang women. No wait...I'm married...make that singular.


But yeah. A lot of these colored faceplates likely were black or beige and was just painted by a shop to match the case they're selling. Cheaper to get a can of spray paint and do it yourself. Not that difficult if you're careful.
