Looking for co-op RPG

I'm looking for a multi-player, CO-OP type of game. Don't care for PvP. Diablo & Diablo@ consumed more hours of my spare time than I care to admit. I tried the demo for Hellgate London but was unimpressed-it seems like just another first person shooter to me (which I don't care for, I enjoy the old school 2D graphics of the Diablo or Ultima series.

Dungeon Runners?

Titan quest rocks. It definitely scratches that same itch that diablo does.

I couldn't recommend this game enough except....

Hellgate: London from the creators of Diablo is coming out tomorrow!

It not even close to feeling like D2.

Titan Quest is pretty good for this. I played it on a LAN w/ 2 friends and we had a ball. We beat it through (and the xpac) and partially to the next difficulty in a few sessions, but I don't think I would play it outside of the LAN.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check a couple of them out. I know Icewind Dale is not for me-not multiplayer and I hate games that you have to study before you play them.

Multiplayer

Icewind Dale comes with full multiplayer support that allows for up to six different people to join a game, i.e. the six members of your party in the single player game. Supported connections include LAN, the Internet via a TCP/IP connection, and direct connections (two players, head-to-head, cooperative mode) via modems or serial cables.

But yeh, it is no diablo 2 when it comes to multiplayer.

Titan Quest, hands down - I had to give it away because it was so addictive!

Definitely Titan Quest. Nothing like a RPG with so much loot you don't know what to do with. 😀

Is Titan Quest like NWN or Dungeon Siege where the enemies do not respawn which limits your ability to level/grind a character? Or is like Diablo where there is virtually no limit to character development with exception of your class choice and talent trees?

Titan Quest is nearly identical to Diablo. I love it. Me and 4 other friends play it together when we get the time and it is by far the best time I've had gaming outside of my normal MMO addictions since 2003. Tons of loot, tons of player development, great story... worth every penny off steam tbh.

Sold. I am getting it after work.

Titan Quest is probably the closest thing you'll get, even though being a fan of Diablo 2, Titan Quest just wasn't the same for me personally. Hellgate London was a big let down after trying the demo, nothing like Diablo, and not even a good game in its own right. I was looking forward to Loki, finally got to try the demo recently and it's not even as good as Titan Quest. The best hack n slash games are all feature lacking console titles like Champions of Norrath, Baldur's Gate 2, and Guantlet. I wish they'd release a console natured game but with all the bells and whistles of a PC title.
