Looking for cheapest 2tb ssd

That Mushkin isn't actually sold by Amazon, it's a third party seller. I'd pay a little extra personally for the Crucial MX500 here:

I dont care where I buy my ssd as long as it has best price and that includes tax and and that why the ssd I posted works the best as even tho I have amazon prime I have to pay MA taxes on most items so I will buy from Newegg if prices are the same!

I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay taxes on the Crucial drive i linked at B&H above.
 
Ahh, Mushkin. Fond memories of paying for the top-tier SSD in the market, 240GB Chronos Deluxe, and watching it die on me in less than a month. 🙂

The Mushkin Reactor TC 2TB is a bit different though from the Mushkin Reactor 1TB even if at the same time it is very similar.
You see, they basically have the internals of two Mushkin Reactors 1TB inside the case configured as JBOD and this impacts random speeds quite severely.
So unless only the sequential speeds are important to you then you might want to check out other drives at the same capacity.

Wait, looked more closely and it seems like this 2TB Reactor has only one controller so random speeds are much better even if some other drives are still faster.
Didn't realize that they had made one until now, only seen the Mushkin Reactor TC 2TB before.

I guess if I ran some tests on the different ssd out there I could get some test to show some improvements testing the components but I not seen any huge differences just using different ssds but there is def improvements using a ssd over a plattered hard drive and I think I will be happy enough with any drive I buy of I will use the return policy and send the drive back. I am cheap and always looking for the best value I can get oh and I am on ssi so my funds are very limited.

When the 2tb ssd drops to $250 I will buy it and it will happen at some point I think the next year 🙂

Maybe, but the price just recently dropped down to around $400 for 2 TB so it's going to be a long wait.

My Samsung EVO 2 TB was $530 last November, so maybe by summer 2019?
 
Doesn't that Micron drive come with a 3 year Point of Purchase warranty though? What happens if 2 years from now it goes bad and then you have to rely on the place you bought it from to replace it? IDK about that....Dave linked to one on Amazon that is sold by a company called Cell Locker. Is Cell Locker really going to care about honoring a warranty on a product they sold to you 2 years ago?

At the trend of prices, 2TB will be sub $100 inside of three years. I don't really see a problem as these drives have a much better shot of even making it several years over the no name brands. At least this has been my experience with Micron/Crucial, never needed an RMA on any.

True but similar things were said about NAND and DRAM pricing in the past and look how that turned out. Both had a decisive upswing in price over the past year or so and NAND is just now coming back down in price but DRAM is still priced high.
Anyway, it was just something to point out to anyone interested in the Micron drive. It seems warranty length and service has always been a big issue with SSD's from a consumer standpoint.
