Go to Durant Square in Berkeley....tons of cheap and very good eats there. I love Steve's BBQ.

Try Tani's kitchen in Westlake Shopping Center if you're on the Westbay.

For Japanese, Tani's chicken is good and cheap. Best cheap and good sushi: Yokoso Nippon

Jupiter in Berkeley! Good food and good beer! It has a very nice outdoor patio that's gas heated during cold days.
