looking for CD-R media with high durability

I sadly don't take good care of the cd's I burn. My neighbor has some TDK "Armour" DVD discs. I did a look up on them and they hace a crazy amount of protective layer added. I Googled around but couldn't really find anything similar fot CD-R media. The cost increase would be worth it for my lack of being careful. If any of you guys know of a media that's geared towards abuse I would love to know about them.

I'm using the generic disc's PC Club sells, and just the other day I accidently closed the tray with the disc unseated and it swiped a patch of the top layer off now the disc has a clear window and probably isn't readable 🙂

 
Holy sh1t, i had a client come to me like 2 months ago saying that he needs the CDROM replaced, because the laser were too weak for his CDRs. I was like WTF? That's impossible, and he was assuring me his CDRs have some armor on them, and can only be read by certain drives. I thought he was on crack, and replaced the drive for him anyways.

So yes, i guess they do exist. BTW, he was a musician, you might want to go that route if you're looking for them.
 
My rule is to avoid plain silver CD-Rs at all costs and stick to a brands that have a label surface that is completely painted over.

While not really armored, the painted label layer usually helps a lot.
