EDIT: I just bought an Antec Super LanBoy from a forum member. It's a good case, but the 120mm fans it comes with are cr@p...

OK, so I'm thinking that my computer has grown more than I originally thought it would when I first built it, and now I'm considering buying a normal mid-tower case. I currently own a micro-atx tower that I've heavily modded for extra intake/exhaust fans. They are all controlled via a Vantec Nexus.

Anyway, I'd like my new case to be mid-tower and have support for a front intake 120mm and rear exhaust 120mm fan. Other intake/exhaust are not required, since I already have hole saws and am not afraid to use them. ;) Side mounted hard drives would be ideal, but normal style is also ok I suppose. I've seen a couple on Newegg like this one, but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else has suggestions on what they like.

Keep in mind I'm a cheap bastard, and don't want to spend more than $60 - $80 shipped. Preferably with a 400W or better power supply. I already have one, but it's modded especially for my current case, and may not work right in another case... ;)

Oh, and I'm a little picky. I really hate cases with windows, bright colors, and lights all over the place. I also don't really like the front drive doors, and also don't like cases with specially molded fronts or shiny plastic fronts.

Thanks for any suggestions. Sorry to post another "what case is best for me" thread....

I think the closest you'll get is the Antec P160, however this is both not cheap and comes without a psu. Maybe the Coolermaster Centurian 5, but that only has an 80mm front intake, and this is blocked by the front panel. I think you'll have to give up the idea of getting a psu with the case - any case for the price you're after is only going to have a really cheap-ass psu that'll do more harm than good.

Anyway, if you can manage to extend your budget to the P160, I'd say you'll be pretty pleased - it covers the rest of your requirements pretty well (except for perhaps the front being a little gaudy, but that can be modded :)).

antec $75 shipped has 1 120mm fan in the rear, but doesn't come with a 120mm up front (has a mount for it tho), it has a solid 350W psu (way better than any cheapo 400W psu)

these cases are known to be quiet with good cooloing w/o having to add an 120mm to the front.

SuperLanBoy by Antec is about 75$ depending where you look. It comes with front and back decently quiet 120mm fans.

Thanks for the links and suggestions everyone. I've got a good list going of brands/models I like. I guess now I just have to figure out what to do for a power supply, and find a good deal. Maybe I'll hit up the FS/FT forum to see if anyone there has one to sell. :)

Antec seems to have the most cases that fit what I would really like. The SPCR link really helped a lot! Thanks klah

Compucase LX-6A19 beige or black

Great buy for under $40!

that's the same case as the Antec SLK3700 series without a power supply or front door. it's one of SPCR's recommended cases and my personal favorite.
