looking for basic laptop

have seen best buy 329.00 and 379.00 dell or hp basic laptops are they good?? Just need to surf web and keep it basic..any recommendations pls

Pretty much. I do recommend shopping around and comparing specs though. Sometimes you'll find one that has a bit more ram, or more HDD space, or better bang for the buck, or whatever.

You won't better deal @ any other store than Newegg...
Enter your e-mail address on newegg site and you'll get e-mails on Tuesdays/Thursdays with deals they have on laptops...
Then, compare similar laptops on best buy and others...

My sister bought an HP from Best Buy for around $300, and it lasted a couple years.

I always honestly just recommend spending a little more and getting the entry-level Macbook Air. The quality and resale value are better than anything out there.
