If I can't think of anything else I might get another civic...here's what I'm looking for..

power everything
reliable
something I can put 260 miles on/week
at least 25mpg, preferably on 87 or 89 octane

balls would be nice but are quite optional

My 1987 Porsche 924S meets all of those. :) An '86+ 944 or a 924S (note the "S", it's much different from the regular 924) with around 125K miles in good shape ought to be in that price range. Hard to find one with an automatic though, and the 924S almost never has power locks (though they all have power windows and mirrors, the mirrors are heated). If you need more than 2 seats on any kind of regular basis though you'll want to look for something else. The rear seats in the 924S and 944 are just for looks.

If you want to go more practical, I'd recommend an Accord. Really can't beat the Accord for reliability and it will be a nice step up from your Civic. You should be able to find a mid-1990's Accord in your price range.

i'm looking for a 2nd car that i can use as a daily driver

i hate putting 220 miles/week on my current car just to go to work/school, and i hate going to play paintball with it (gotta drive it through the boonies and whanot, and it's a 90 mile trip)

it's gotta be practical, no porsches =P

Does that mean your current car is a new Civic?

it would be a lot cheaper in terms of insurance and stuff to just drive one car instead of having two identical cars. it seems kind of pointless to buy a second to me. If you only need one car at a time, just have one car.

Exactly... cars are made to be used. If you're worried it'll depreciate too much .... I can understand, but otherwise... doesn't make sense.

Its a freaken civic. I could understand doing what your talking about if you had some rare valuable car but buying another car to keep your civic in good shape is just weird.

Mine gets 25mpg but if you buy a 5.0l you have things backwards. Buy the 5.0l mustang to have fun with and use the civic as a beater :).
