A while back (maybe 3-6 months ago?) there was a thread that compared some DX10 games to DX9 versions of the same game. Are there games that look significantly better now using DX10 vs. DX9?
A coworker of mine asked if I thought he should upgrade (side grade? down grade?
) to Vista to use DX10 for some of his games. I remember seeing that thread, but didn't remember what the conclusion was, or if there are big differences yet.
Also, I assume DX10 is harder on hardware? In generaly will a DX10 capable card get lower fps using the DX10 path vs. DX9? I'm sure this has probably been gone over, but I'm finally thinking about picking up a copy of Vista 64 (being able to use all of my ram appeals to me ) and was just curious about the performance difference.
If anyone can find that old thread or cares to point out a few games that I can look at I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
