Although I'm sure no body knows, does anyone have an idea at an a-b, c-a comparison???

I think the difference between 5950U vs the 5200 and the 6800U vs 5950U is alot different. Games are playable with the 5950U while a 5200 can't run jack with any sort of speed. Also if we said the 6800U is roughly twice as fast as a 5950U. The 5950U is alot more than two time as fast as the 5200. so I don't think the comparision works.

We go from "playable to absolute $hit" as "amazing" is to "playable."

apples to oranges IMHO.

The 5950 is a top end card while the 5200 NEVER was.

The 5900 Pro is to the 5200 as the 6800 is to the 5900?

hehe, dude you need some coffee ;)

5900 is hella faster than a 5200 where as the 6800 is only twice as fast as the 5900.

i think this would be a better way to describe it: the 5900 is to the ti4600 as the 6800 is to the 5900

lol, we've already got guys describing parts like the 5950U as "playable" or just acceptable, as if it weren't a current available performance leader. I guess my Radeon 8500 won't be in my desktop too much longer.

id argue that the 5950 is infinitely faster than the 5200................there is no comparsion

what you wanna try is comparing the 5200 to a spira-graph or etch-a-sketch.....hell even your own hand...u might be in for suprise :p

Given the fact that the X800 hasn't been launched yet, no one knows much of anything about the GPU except that it will be faster than the R360. Neither the 6800/U and X800 haven't been released in retail... so no one knows if there are any differences between the preview cards and retail cards in terms of clock speeds and die revisions. Bottom line is that no one can say with any accuracy worth noting.

The sad thing is, I already think of the 5950u and 9800XT in those terms. Keep in mind, my fastest GPU is a Geforce 4, but I still think like that :D

You just cant compare these like that. I mean ur taking a high end card and comparing it to another high end card and comparing that to a low end card in the same gen as the 2nd high end card. I mean they take severely crippled chips, cripple them more, and turn them into 5200's. Their best output of the GF2's would probably match up well to that chip. The thing with the recent 9x and FX series of graphics cards, is that they have a HUGE range. You just cant compare then and now like that considering this.
(Note: This may not make total sense, but i think u may bet the idea)
