Looking for an MMO

Looking for an MMO to grab for Xmas, but heres the catch- no monthly fee. I have ruled out Guild Wars and Anarchy Online. I am looking for something with mediocore or better graphics not something 5 years old.

if you like WoW, you probably won't like GW.

GW is so dead feeling except in towns and then its just a bunch of idiots yelling random crap

Well I want an MMO, but I know I don't want monthly fees like when I played WoW. I tried Anarchy Online since it is free now and I hated it. And I think I will pick whatever game up for Xmas so if anything is coming out before then tell me all about it 🙂

MapleStory is a lot better and doesn't cost one cent 😛

GW feels strange because it's all instanced. Not a very open feeling, except in towns. Hitting the level cap is too easy. Not a lot of groups just lying around, and unless you're in a guild, the majority of the community is just immature. Just my (limited) experience with the game.

You're not going to find any decent game for free in the MMO market. Nothing that will keep you playing for years - content costs money to produce.

yeah but GW seems to super famous. i am thinking of grabbing GW:night fall in a few days. the no fees is really really a big selling point for me.

I think I might pick up Fable again, loved it the first time through (Didnt read up on the hype so there were no letdowns 🙂 ). And besides, the first time though I was playing on a Mobility M6 which didn't display half the textures lol.

what he said. If you ever want to fork money where it counts I highly recommend Eve Online. Be careful though, it's a drug in many ways if your up there in the learning curve.

If u like Fable, try Oblivion if you haven't already or NWN2.

Guild Wars isnt too bad. Most of the time you can find a party. However I do agree that it feels like the player population has declined since Factions came out last April. Nightfall is very good though.
