Looking for an inexpensive, reliable PSU

I'm currently using an Ultra X-Finity 500 watt PSU and have been having some system stability issues and the failure of an SATA HD. I don't know if the PSU is the culprit or not but I feel like before I upgrade other parts of the system, I should make sure instead of blowing them out as well.

What I want to spend: 60-90 dollars

What it needs to do:
Power the following devices
ATi Radeon 4870 (no crossifre)
A p45 motherboard
Intel E7200 Wolfdale
2 HDs
2 Optical Drives
8 GB of Ram

Clearly I'm not going to get a Silverstone at this price range, but I can certainly find something reliable from a quality manufacturer. My biggest concerns are how much power I'll actually need for the above system and future proofing, and in getting a name brand power supply that will give me clean power with as little ripple as possible. I've eyed the Corsairs on Newegg that are on sale right now, especially with the coupon codes but I'm not sure that's the best deal to be had.

Will that PS work with a video card that requires 2 PCI-E 6 pin connectors? The 6+2 looks kind of funky to me, not sure if that'll work or not.

Yes...the reason it is 6+2 is so that you can use it as an 8pin if you want to....or a 6 pin..The majority of PSU makers make them 6+2 pins instead of 8 pins...there is nothing funky about it.

You are better of having the option to turn it into an 8pin if you need it. Those Corsairs are about the best PSUs you can buy for that money.

I'm using a 6+2 connector in my 8800GT, which takes a single 6-pin.

As H00fan said, the point of the 6+2 is to make the connector useful either way.

And by the way H00fan, go Hokies. ;)

For the record, these Rosewills made by ATNG are reliable cheap PSUs. The key here is that they're made by ATNG and not Youngyear or some other chop shop that makes PSUs from dismantled nuclear submarine parts that are still radioactive. I have a $69 RP550V2 that's lasted over four years now. Yes, four years. How many of your fancy brand PSUs lasted that long on an overclocked gaming system running at least 12hrs a day? The damned things work.

OEM: ATNG

RV400S-2 29A
RV450-2 30A
RP500-2 32A
RP550V2-D-SL 35A <--- that's the one I have.
RP550S-2MK 35A
RP600v2-S-SL 36A
RX750-D-B 60A
RX750-S-B 60A
RX850-D-B 64A
RX850-S-B 64A

This is what I'd probably buy today, for $64:

If you don't mind an MIR, then the BFG Tech ES-800 on sale at New Egg for $89.00 AMIR is pretty much an unbeatable deal (although it's more power than you need).

BFG Tech ES-800

Since when is there anything wrong with having more power than you need??

I was just trying to say that I wasn't suggesting he needed 800Ws, but at that price, the only reason not to get it is if you absolutely need modular or don't like MIRs.
