Looking for an inexpensive IR booster

My TV, and related components are just barely out of line of site for my remote from where I sit at my computer. I guess I'm looking for an IR blaster, but really don't want to spend $100 for one.

Not looking to control my TV through floors or 200 ft away, basically about 40 ft with one wall partially in the way.

"Tasteslikechicken just put one his Uncle's place..." Huh?

Using Harmony with it's own rechargeable, don't really have the angle for a mirror

I can bounce my remote off a satin-finished acoustic guitar (as in not very reflective), from behind my system, and everything works perfectly (I just tested to see if it would). This means it doesn't need to be a very direct or aimed signal You might be surprised by what a mirror could do. A round, shiny flower-pot near the doorway might work even better.

40 ft is certainly getting up there, but I would honestly try bouncing it wth something you already own to see if it's at all feasible.

A quick search turned up a few remote extenders in the $50 range though.

3chord, I tried it with the glass from a picture frame, worked partially but not controlling my receiver and TV at the same time. I could go for $50, but maybe the Harmony extender is the way to go. Not really high on priorities at that price though.

Ironic, OK, skimmed thru 4 pages, lol.

Same time?

I have my remote set up to mute both TV and receiver with one push of the mute button. The TV and receiver are located about 5 feet apart.
