looking for an external hard drive

Anyone know a good external hard drive? Since my laptop only has USB 1, I have to go with firewire. Also, 5400RPM is fine, since its only for storage of MP3's, dvd, and all that other stuff that you can get from p2p. Id preferably like over 100GB since I already filled up my 40GB harddrive with MP3's in 2 months. Anyone know if those 200GB+ 5400RPM drives from Maxtor are sold in an external version? or do I have to buy the harddrive and external case separately? What is the chance of the drives failing? If I end up with over 100GB of music I dont want to have to redownload it all.

Edit: I checked out the maxtor 5000XT with 250GB of storage. That sounds good, but would it be cheaper to just buy a drive like that and buy an aftermarket external case?
