Just need a external hard drive for my GF's computer. Doesn't need to be huge, but I want to get the best bang for our buck. And it needs to be reliable ^^ Thanks!

It's usally less expensive to build it yourself (not much though. around $10~$20) and this provies you with more options. Buy any hard drive and the USB 2.0 enclosure of your choice. The installation is as simple as just opening/closing the case.

Yep...you could get an 80GB drive and an enclosure for about $70-$80 total.

if you watch hot deals for a good deal on a hard drive, you can at least get a 120 gb drive and enclosure for 70-80, even without rebates probably.

I found a 100GB Maxtor drive at bestbuy for $59.99 or $69.99 I think it was. It seemed pretty good, so I grabbed it for my girlfriend. :D Thank for the help though!

go on Newegg, and check out Rosewill's line of USB enclosures...
they come in silver or black.. they have a nice look to them...they are not gawdy, or have alot of fancy gizmo's to them..

I got the 100 maxtor at bestbuy on sale last week. Nice little drive. I'd keep an eye open cause these sales come up very often. making your own is ok, but probably wont save any in the end. Buy.com also has several deals that come up often.
