Looking for an enthusiast PC shop in Manhattan

I just moved to New York, and I've discovered that my mailbox is too damned small for any packages whatsoever. I've already had to run across town to pick up 3-4 Newegg shipments.

I figure in a town this size there's bound to be a decent nerd-level tech store, ideally something along the lines of a Fry's, though at this point I'd take a mom-and-pop operation as well. I'm looking for something less consumer-oriented than a CompUSA or BestBuy, where the clown sales reps tell idiots to buy P4s for gaming. I'm looking for some place that sells HSF setups, ramsinks, PSUs, things like that. A real enthusiast joint.

Any NYC folk have a favorite local store?

well, no, but next time, try to live in a doorman building.... i knew that i'd be ordering lots of packages and specifically moved to various apartments in nyc (i'm currently on my third since last year) that had those accommodations.

everything in the city is overpriced. it's worth it to wait a few days than to pay so much for something that is $5-10 cheaper elsewhere.

Data Vision.

As you might expect, large markup. Quite a selection, however - three floors. Basement floor might be best suited for your desires.

A few smaller stores in Queens, but most carry one brand and model of each item (e.g., no selection at all).

A better choice (if transportation is available to you) would be Microcenter in Westbury. Slightly larger selection, and better prices.

Online retailers always supersede the above suggestions as far as price and selection are concerned, however.

Cool, thanks. I'm not looking to buy anything expensive, mobos or video cards, but it would be nice to know there was a local place so I wouldn't have to wait three days every time I need a new tube of AS5 or 120mm fan.

Consider having your online purchases sent to your place of employment?

No on-campus solution? MBE (or similar service) might be an option as well.
