Looking for an AMD64 mobo with onboard LCD

I have an AthlonXP mobo that has an onboard two-digit lcd for displaying boot codes. I have found it to be extremely useful for debugging mobo problems and have come to require this feature above all other mobo features. 🙂 Yea, I'm addicted to onboard lcd boot codes - beeps and bloops are too old school for me.

So my question is: Does anyone know of any good mobos for an AMD64 chip that have this feature?

Don't know of one? The Asus 939 mobo's all have voice post messages. If you connect speakers to the mobo's speaker conections it will give you post messages in english. Like "failed cpu test", "cpu fan failure" "hard drive not detected" etc.....

With the new A8N series, it will also let you customize the post messages by recording your own messages in a wave file. assigning them to individual post events and flashing your custom messages to the bios

How critically acclaimed is the soltek K8Tpro S939 via board?
Is it considered a good well-rounded, high performance AMD64 mobo?

I bought that Soltek board for my girlfriend's computer. So far it has been easy enough to work with and pretty solid. If you really want that digital boot code read out. It is not a bad board for it. The MSI K8Neo2 PLatinum has a led readout display on it as well, only it is not numerical characters. Not certain on others, but those two I have recent experience with.

Just get ahold of a pci card as Peter said, I have one and it's great, helpful for fixing comps that don't have one on board too 😛

FrozenCPU-LCD Displays This should do you right. Temp sensors and cables even for plug in to your motherboard. I am sure FrozenCPU has more along the lines of the pci cards etc for this.

Thanks for asking that. I think I may wind up getting one of those L.I.S. 2's from that page. I may have not seen it otherwise.
