Hi Guys,

I'm a computer integrator in audiovisual environment and I'm looking for an AMD Radeon card (last generation) with the following specifications:

- AMD Radeon HD ...
- PCIe
- at least 1GB memory (512MB are ok but I don't think this could handle 3 screens)
- Mono slot (be careful of the fan which often exceed on the second slot)
- 3 active output (2 dvi and 1 display port or 1 DVI + 1DP with adaptator...) (obviously I need to work with at least 1280x1024 on the 3 screens) (no HDMI as we use professional screens)
- I don't need the card to be really powerfull.

Do you think you can help me on this, because so far I found some mono slot cards but apparently those are not able to power 3 screens simultaneously?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best Regards,
SuperGex

Low end single slot cards almost always come with vga+dvi or dvi+hdmi instead of dual dvi.

However, you can get an adaptor from hdmi to dvi without too much issue (they make hdmi-dvi cables regularly).

With that in mind the 5670 is likely the best option, but many are now shipping with a 5750 style cooler (two slot) so teh least expesive 1gb version that fits teh bill is the xfx.. at $104.

The low price 5670s are either only 512MB or have a larger cooler. Lower end cards will not have display port and thus only support up to 2 displays.

Thanks a lot guys.

I didn't know that XFX brand, but I will choose the 5670.
I thought they were using the hdmi output for only TV stuff, because some computer specialist told me you couldn't use the two dvi and the hdmi at the same time (never trust this guys)

@Skurge, regarding your link, the radiator is too big and will exceed on the second slot, but thanks.

Thanks again for your help.

XFX is a great brand. I know this by experience (they shipped out a new HSF for my dying 4650HD fan). They were fast :p

you cant use 2dvi+1hdmi at the same time. any eyefinity card you get will require a displayport out for 3 monitors.

Assuming your monitors have dvi or vga, you will want to get a radeon 5xxx series with 2dvi+1dp and one of the new single link active dp adapters.

any eyefinity card you get should be able to drive 3 1920x1200 monitors.
