How far back do you want to go? do you need specs, reading material or just picks? do you want as many different speed grades as possible or just grouped by family (all K6 grouped together no matter the speed or core revision)?

Tomshardware has a cpu history article (not sure about its content as I have only glanced at it) but it appears to have very few pictures and only really covers the Athlon line from slot A to current (from what I can tell).
http://www.cpushack.net/ has picks of early cpus up to the K7 but no real info from what I have seen.
I can also tell you how to find some interesting reading on the K5.

I would really need to know the answers to some of the questions above to know if I can help you any more.

Thanks for the effort guys. Nothing complex, a simple map would good.
Something like intel : pentium .. pentium II pentium III etc. just a general family of proccessors. Most likely from one of the early big proccessors to todays.

EDIT:
www.mikeshardware.co.uk that one is good, but it only goes back to 99. i was thinking mid 80s or so.
