Hi guys,

Just picked up a 64 chip. Looking for a nice, new MoBo to run it on.

Most of the reviews give the nod to MSI's platinum offering, but I wanted some end user opinions if possible.

Please advise. :)

anandtech gave the aopen via k8t800 board an editor's choice award. It looks like a good, cheap board. If you're going to overclock, look for an nforce board, if not, pick up a speedier via board. btw, is the neo platinum out yet?

Both of which reside on the PCI bus, so it's not some super-duper integrated feature that gets cut out. May as well save the money now, and add a firewire card and a (better) gigabit, if necessary, NIC later. Keep in mind, the PCI bus, at 133 megabytes / second can't even keep up with 250 megabytes/sec (at full duplex) gigabit LAN, never mind gigabit LAN and firewire (400mbit, or 50 megabytes/sec per port) together.
