Looking for alternatives to Teamviewer

I think that team viewer is better than other software, but if you are looking for an alternative then the only Open Source alternative that I know about is OpenMeetings. It's a JEE application that's not too hard to deploy if you had some previous experience with tomcat. If you plan to host meetings with many participants, you'll probably need a server with a decent amount of RAM. It does audio/video conferencing and screen sharing. Screen sharing streaming is not very bandwith-optimized, it may work over intranet, but it's not very reliable over the internet.

At that rate you might as well use VNC.

Looks like Screen Connect has gone the way of logmein. Packages are now STARTING at $2195!! I paid $495 just a couple years ago.

They started selling a hosted model as well. I think the self-hosted model starts at $2195 for 3 tech licenses. They also have a hosted model goes from $19-$45/mon depending on options. The free should be good if you are just helping out friends, family or want a agent on your home machines.

It's still a crazy price hike. I'll continue to use what I have but when it's time Ill transition away from them. It was a good price while it lasted.

LogMeIn was so good when you could have a bunch of computers for free. I preferred it to teamviewer, but now its too expensive for my purposes.
