I replaced my old motherboard (dead) with a an EVGA 680i ( 122-CK-NF68-A1 version) and unfortunately, the cpu is located relatively close to the edge of the board. This puts the Tuniq Tower right up against an internal wall of the case (Lian Li V1200 Plus II). I had to mount it rotated 90 degrees to what I consider the optimum direction for airflow, to get it to fit at all, but even so it is so close to the wall that it actually touches it. Unless I insert a nonconductive shim this prevents the system from booting up (I am presume it is causing a short).
Between the sub-optimal angle and the necessity for kludgy plastic shims, I figure I ought to look at alternative cooling. Any suggestions for a good air cooling solution with a narrower profile? The height of the Tuniq Tower was not a problem--I have an inch of clearance in that direction.
