I don't play at any real high rez (normally 1024 X 768 or 1280 x 1024), I'm just looking to get more FPS and possibly to be able to crank up the looks a bit at the same time.

I can sell my 1900gt and get with the $ either:

1950pro with 512 or 1950xt with 256

Or do I just stick with the 1900gt?

Thanks in advance!

I have:
Pentium 4 Prescott DT, 3.0GHZ, 1 MEGB, 800FSB
Intel motherboard
2 gigs of 533

My main area of curosity was the 1950pro with 512 of ram vs the 1950xt with 256 of ram. I didn't know if the additional ram was as big of a factor as the pro vs xt.

well at that low res, the x1900gt should be fine; what are you playing that won't run well on an x1900gt at 1024x768? usually they can do games at 1280x1024 (or higher) with med~high effects.

I'm always looking for more don't ya know, and it will be a free "upgrade" for me as someone I know wants my card for the same cost that I can buy one of those other cards for.

I play, CS:S, BF 2142, DOD:S, Red Orchestra, Guild Wars, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and other older games.

The 1950xt is the fastest out of the cards you listed. I don't know what the rest of your system is, maybe your cpu is holding back the performance, in which case you won't see much improvement going to a 1950xt. But with a decent A64 or C2D cpu, the 1950xt will chew up any game at max settings at that resolution.

since its free get the x1950xt; the extra ram of the x1950 pro won't really come into play until higher resolutions; the higher specs of the xt more than offset it at such low resolutions. even at higher resolutions the x1950xt would probably do better (don't hold me to that though, it's just that it's quite a bit faster and has so many more pipes).
