Looking for a wireless security guide

I was listening to an NPR story where they were at a SF Giants game. I guess the stadium offers free wireless access. NPR had a wireless security guy with them who was grabbing everyone's keystrokes etc as they sat there typing away. The guy noted that you can create a more secure you connection when you're on public access points, but didn't disclose how to do it. I often use public access points, and would like to have this added security.

Does anyone know where I can find a good wireless security guide? Specifically for when you use public access points. I'm not as concerned about my personal home wireless setup as I've locked it down as well as I can.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Network forum.

Here you have a Wireless Basic Security Guide.

Link to: Wireless Security.

There is Not too much you can do about the Wireless security itself.

Using Public access you have to go with the parameters of the provider.

I do not know what the Guy on the show was talking about. But I would not be surprised thta he was talking about what you can do the secure the actual computer settings rather than the Wireless connection
