I had posted a thread about extending the range of my wireless usb adapter. I hadn't used it in ages, so I reinstalled the drivers yesterday (Buffalo WLI2-54G), hook my external antenna, try to connect to my neighbors network and BOOM BSOD - Prisma02 is the file that's bosd'in me. Tried un/reinstalling same thing. I got about 5 BSOD's from this in 30 minutes of trying, Googled up and nothing helped. So I've decided to buy a router and not deal with drivers at all.
any ways in the last thread I posted I was told to get a Linksys and flash it with the DD-WRT and use it as a client. Never had experience with a router outside of using it as a router.
Running them in client mode, is this something most can do? Basically what I'm after is a router with awesome range that can be ran in client mode so I can connect to my neigbor's network. Which is 5 or 6 houses up the street. With my Buffalo adapter and the 6.5dbi antenna hooked up, I could see the network (1 bar) sometimes it would connect fine, others it would be unable to. I just want an easy way to connect.
router suggestions?
