I recently acquired a website and domain name and was looking to start a site similar to anandtech and other hardware guru's forums as well as possibly expanding the site to do hardware sales and support.

I'm looking for someone with expertise in this area to help me along as I do this. The site is fully paid for for 1 year so far and it is easy for me to extend this contract with the hosting company, I do have the funding to do so.

I am looking for someone who is dedicated, friendly and on time as well as having a flexible schedule.

Duties include:

Website creation and maintenance (building from the ground up)
Maintaining a user friendly atmosphere.

Easy enough for anyone with experience in these fields. This could possibly be a profitable job (not right away, we can talk about terms later on)

Anyone with some interest feel free to contact me via PM on the forums

Im not looking to take away from Anandtech at all if thats what you're wondering. Just looking to put experiences and hardware reviews and such, possibly expanding in the future.

I mean traffic across all boards, all forums. Further, tech companies are reducing the number of review products they send out to cut costs.

Combination of THW and AT have you beat, I think.

It'd be cool, but may be hard to take away from die hard AT, THW, etc. readers.

AT provides crazy in-depth reviews of hardware, too, so you'd definitely have some hard competition. Think of something your site could have that neither of those do not have, and you could probably be successful.

I hope you're paying someone to do all of this. No one is going to build a website from the ground up for free.

Thats due to the failing economy at this point. It should pick up here in the future. No matter what happens, look at how the computer market is actually doing. People are still buying $250 processors, $400 video cards and so on. The market cant be doing as bad as the world is.

And on top of that, I'm not trying to "take away" any members or acquire the die hards. I'm just trying to provide another place for reviews and such

You're reading the whole topic quite well arent you? They are going to be involved in the whole process as well as helping provide the reviews. I'm not very web savvy in the creation of websites and maintenance. Thats why I posted this. Right now its going to be a just for fun type of project. I can acquire licenses and stuff. I know there's people out there that are willing to do this and have the time and want to put forth the effort, which is why I chose anandtech to try to help me out =)

Ok, well compensation for their skills can be decided before the project has started... How about that?

You only joined last month, have 83 posts, and started a thread on Anandtech asking for non-paid volunteers to write content to directly compete with Anandtech?

Hot diggity, sign me up! :D

I'm not competing with anyone. There isnt really a competition for hardware reviews is there? Each place reviews the hardware, its basically providing another resource for people to view before they make a commitment to buy.

Besides that, what does it matter if I joined last month and only have 83 posts. We all have the same interest in being here...

You plan on making money right? Vendors give you hardware, you test it, you keep it. You present it on your site. Vendors pay you for advertising on said site. When advertisers have limited budgets, isn't that competition?

i can tell you with 100% certaintiy right now that your 'plan' is going to go absolutely nowhere.

you sound as if you have absolutely no direction you have in mind other than 'i want a site like anandtech'.

yea, good luck starting it and finding someone to help you for free...

I dont plan on making money off the reviews or hardware. Those will most likely be given away in contests and stuff (the reviewed hardware).

I was planning on moving into possible sponsorships later on down the road (nothings really set in stone).

Its quite obvious that no one here can actually give constructive criticism. Thats fine with me. I was just looking for help. If you arent going to help, there's no point in telling me the same thing that the previous 9 posts in this thread have said. I get the point already, I dont need it reiterated to me 30 times.

So, how much are you paying? I'm looking for a part time job.

Hmm... judging by the looks of it, you're looking for something for free. Too bad you don't have the blackman avatar, otherwise I'd ask for an iPod.

You pay me enough i'll make anything you want and put it on a website. Pay me more then enough and I'll even be friendly and outgoing and enjoy myself while doing it.

Its nice to know I can take a semi-serious topic and people can just get completely retarded all over it.

Forget it, I'm not viewing it anymore.

Have fun flaming.
