Looking for a used full sized SUV UPDATE: bought it

I agree its a good chunk of change for an older vehicle but its a good chunk of vehicle too. I've looked in a 75 mile radius around me and the price is competitive. Most in the price range have much higher miles than this. To get much lower miles the cost goes up pretty sharp as the year is much newer. It's averaged right around 11k/year which is fairly low for these from the ads I've been seeing. That combined without being set up exactly like I would want if I ordered it new makes me willing to pay towards the higher end if what's worth.(it's got a brand new set of Michelens as a bit of a bonus). I think I've pretty much made up my mind on it. Probably going to pick it up tomorrow.

I thought I had put the mileage, it's 112k. It's looks comparable to your area. The second one has a ton of miles as it's pushing 140k. The first is pretty much the truck I'm getting. It has 4k less miles but the one I'm looking at is an LT vs the LS there. It's three years newer but the only thing I've seen from the research I've done that's meaningful is stability control if it has it. Within 75 miles of me there really isn't anything that can compete looking at Suburbans. Hopefully it will work out in the long run. I'm already dreading the first fill up.

Well I bought it. Here's a quick pic I took at the lot. Surprisingly enough they had a half a tank of gas in it, nice surprise.

That half tank needs to be stretched. If it has a 40 gallon tank (son had one with that capacity) you are talking well north of $100 to keep it fed.

I believe it's 32.5 with 38 for the 2500's. I figure I'll kill C-note everytime it hits the pump.

That's a 2500? Looks like a normal 1500 to me.

I wouldn't have done a 2500, to much of a rougher ride and I have no intention of towing anything no less something a 2500 would be needed for. Thanks for the compliment, I really like it. I've always wanted a big ass truck and now I have one.

nice truck. our 94 sub. had a 48 gal tank!!! we could nearly drive to North Carolina from Michigan on one tank.

My relatives have an '03 (I think) 2500 and the ride doesn't seem especially harsh to me? Maybe its because it has the autoride option?

It may not be much of a difference anymore and the auto ride would certainly help. Things certainly could have changed as my experience between 1/2 and 3/4 ton was years ago back when Ford made an F-250 non-superduty.

Have they had good luck with theirs?

God that's big, every time I pass something like that in my civic I feel like I'm gonna get pushed off the road. Then again pretty much the only car I feel big next to is a smart or a fiat 500

I used to joke about having my ex son in law park his Probe in the bed of my F250 if parking was tight.
