Looking for a used 350-450 laptop

Selling my inspiron 8600 cuz it didn't meet my needs anymore.

I'm looking for a used laptop in the 350-450 range. The only real requirements are that it's LIGHT and has battery life.

The only 2 I know of in that range are Dell L400 and IBM X21.

Both are roughly the same price (400ish) with roughly the same specs. The problem I have with both is the 2 hour battery life.

Is there such a lappy in that price range where I can get 3-4 hours or so of battery life?

The notebook is only going to be used for MS Word (notes in class), internet explorer, and aim.

You're probably going to have to go with a Pentium M to get that kind of battery life, and the processor alone is going to push your budget. Your best bet is to get another battery. Sure, it's going to add another 1/2 pound but it's your most cost-effective solution.

Those old systems wont get anything beyond 2.5 hours max. And that's assuming the battery is in perfect new condition which it probably wont be for a used laptop.

what about old lappy with modern and better battery technology that will last 3+ hours???
