My girlfriend wants to get a tower fan with a remote for father's day. We have one at home but it keeps breaking on us, i.e. it wouldn't oscillate or make annoying sounds. I?ve fixed it two times now since we got it a few months ago.

I?m looking for one that is sturdy and can withstand a little beating, i.e. kids.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

the spire fan from Sharper Image rocks. super quiet, remote control, looks cool. plus my family has shopped there about a decade and we rate them a 99% on our subjective customer approval scale!

ive had a few tower fans & one thing Ive learrned with tower fans is you get what you pay for. A halfway decent one will cost $50.00 or more. The ones less that $50.00 are just not worth it-they work fine but then start to make noises after a few weeks(this is important to me because I like a quiet "smooth" fan). After many tries I finally ended up keeping the Enviracare Tower fan that I got at Home Depot for $50.00.

lol@ having to put 'seriously' after Kmart

a lot of people have no idea of the merchandise that kmart sells. Believe it or not, a lot of the merchandise we sell is good stuff that i'd buy myself :)

I've had the Enviracare one from Home Depot for about three weeks. Seems fine so far.
