I have two lav mics (with male mono minijack connectors) that I need to connect to a digital recorder (which has a female minijack input). The idea is to have a left mono mic & right mono mic going into a stereo adapter for L&R. Therefore, I'm looking for a cable with:

1. One Male Stereo Minijack connector
2. Two Female Mono Minijack connectors

Since it's for a portable type of setup, I'd like to keep it compact. So far I've only found a Male Stereo Minijack to Dual Mono Phono Jacks, which would require the use of a Phono to Minijack adapter. That starts getting a little clunky. I could also do a headphone splitter coupled with a pair of mono minijack adapters.

Any suggestions or am I stick with a DIY project?

you would need 1/4" to 3.5mm adapters. Personally, I've done this cable before myself and it's pretty darn easy. I would go DIY unless the price is equivalent.

Yeah I figured I'd have to go with something like that. It's not the most elegant solution, but it will work. I'll have to rig up a cable relief system so it doesn't pop out of the flush-mounted minijack on the recorder. Ah well. You'd think they'd have something like this, haha.

I have no idea. Those links are straight off Google.
