Looking for a special CPU benchmark

I'm looking for a special CPU benchmark that can make use of 4 cores but not constantly. The reason I want to test my CPU out that way is because I don't believe that games that use 4 cores, don't used all 4 cores consistently, but cores get called upon when needed. In the synthetic multithreaded CPU benchmarks like Cinebench consistently use all cores on the multicore CPU benchmark. Another reason is that I would like to see the effect of C3 and C6 power states have in a CPU benchmark that does not consistently use all cores (latencies of cores waking up when called upon if C3 and C6 are enabled).

Why not just use a game that you think has this behaviour?

It is often very difficult to find a benchmark that exactly matches the characteristics of a specific application because there are many factors at play, and the specific factor that limits the performance of your application is not always obvious.

Just download the source code to a pi calculator and then insert delays how you see fit.

If you are just trying to load cpu the same, you can use prime95 but instead of running all threads just use less like on quad core , run 2 threads .
I find this is close to many games as far as temp and load .

If your looking to stress same code type , then some kind of game BM would be best depending on game type (CPU verse GPU bottlenecks ) .
