Looking for a solid, reliable hosting service.

Hello all. 🙂

I'm currently investigating hosting companies for a small business. They want to host a website on it, use it for large files via FTP and email (25ish email address minimum). I like HostPC.com but, unfortunatly, whenever I check the server uptime it always seems to be about 7-11 days so they are out of the option. 🙁

As the title says, the company has to have excellent uptime. Good SPAM filtering would be a plus.

Does anyone have any suggestions or comments?

Thanks a bunch!

Can you clarify this 7-11 days? I don't quite understand.

I personally use HostPC.com for my domain and have only one complaint. During evening hours the Squirrelmail is SLOW I suspect because they're running backups around that time (~1AM EST).

Unfortunately in this price range ($25/yr) there are very few reliable and reputable web hosts to choose from.

One suggestion is SolidInternet.com which is owned and operated by Myacen.com

Remember YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. One of these days it WILL come back to bite you in the ass, trust me 🙂

Are you sure you're looking in the right place?

http://uptime.hostpc.com

Our overall uptime is: 99.963%

That is somewhat lower than what I'd like to see, but it's mainly because we've been doing TONS of patches and security updates in the past week-10 days.

I'm not sure what you're looking at that shows 7-11 days? Any outage we've had hasn't been longer than 5 minutes, on any server (and thats usually caused by a server reboot, or apache/php upgrade). I haven't had any complaints of downtime on our servers like you're describing. I'd be interested in knowing where you see that information. Please feel free to check our forums, or email me directly if you have any questions. joe@ hostpc dot com

Thanks for considering us.

I'm with HostPC per RossMAN's recommendation and they have been great for me. Fast, and it's never been down when I've noticed.
