Looking for a Socket A HSF similar to a Xeon 2U HSF

I'm sure there's something like this out there for the Socket A.

I have a 3200+ in a Lian Li PC50 case. The way the case is designed, the power supply sits right on top of the CPU's HSF allowing only about 1/2" clearance between the top of the fan and the PSU (and that's using a stock AMD cooler! Nothing else seems to fit!)

Do any of you remember the Xeon fan made for rack mount cases that had the fan on the SIDE of the heatsink blowing air actoss instead of on the top blowing air down?

I need something like that for an AMD Socket A. I figured if I could just mount a HSF on the CPU that moved air ACROSS the heatsinks, I don't have to worry about clearance with the PSU.

I found This which is similar to the fan that you posted.I don't know if its gonna help any because this item seems to be taller than the retail fan.I know its hard to part with your Lan li but maybe it its time for a new case.

WOW! That thing's RAD! Unlike the Globalwin, the fan actually faces the right direction for a Biostar M7NCD. The air would flow bottom to top instead of front to back. I'm going to pull my power supply out and measure for clearance. Now that I've seen that fan, I WANT ONE! 🙂

I've got 90MM clearance between the board and the power supply. Not gonna fit. *sigh* Anyone interested in a PC50... Cheap? 🙁

Sorry to hear it didn't work out as planned.But hey theres a lot of new cases out there from Lian Li,Silverstone & Cooler Master(if youre in to high stuff).
