Looking for a socket A (462) mobo WITH PCI-E

I heard about a Socket A (462) mobo a while back that had 1 AGP slot and 1 PCI-E slot. I've recently purchased a nVidia 8800 GTS for my main system and I was going to throw my x1900XT into my second PC.

I think the mfg. I heard that made this mobo was Asrock but i could be wrong. I would like to locate a mobo to throw this card into if anyone could help me.

Thanks

I guess I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I noted this as a potential option like a year or so ago with the socket A 462 and a PCI-E option.

Socket A and PCI Express never existed. Socket 478 and PCI Express did exist, but only a few boards and those disappeared pretty quickly. Fortunately, you can get a better processor than that Athlon XP and a new motherboard for around $150, probably less if you find someone on the FS/FT forums getting rid of their old Socket 939 system.

I would grab a cheap socket 775 board with PCI-E, maybe one of those microATX boards that handle both DDR and DDR2. If you have an old Pentium 4 775 laying around, you're set.

Socket A was quite dead by the introduction of PCI-Express. No Socket A chipsets with support for PCI-Express were ever made, and thus no motherboards.

ASRock's list of AMD-compatible motherboards is here, if you care to look.

You're probably better off just buying a cheap Socket 754 processor and motherboard with PCI-Express support.

I have no intentions to dump any money into it, I was just hoping I could score a mobo with PCI-E for like $40 or something.

I guess I'll sell the x1900 for like $150 and use that money to buy Vista heh
