Looking for a smallerish gaming mouse

I'm thinking about replacing my worn out three year old MX500. The MX500 is a little big and bulky for me, to be honest, so I'd prefer something a little smaller this time around.

I went over to Best Buy to look at their mouse offerings in person. The VX Revo felt really nice -- comfy and natural, but I'm not sure how well it'd work for gaming (concerned about the DPI resolution, wirelessness, and durability).

Also tried out the Sidewinder and the MX Revo -- both too big. They also had the G5, but I already know what that feels like because it's the same shape as what I already have. They also had some boxed Razers, but none on display.

Did you try the G9? Also I was at Microcenter and they had a Fatality mouse. It was alot smaller than most, and it had a 3rd button to the right of the right button. Why doesnt' any other mouse have that?

Logitech G3 or Razer Diamondback (especially with the newer Diamondback 3G). Both are ambidextrous form factor, although the Razer is a little bit bigger, however the design is very friendly to smaller hands, you can really throttle back on the buttons and get the same response all over the button.

Heck, even the old school Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical 1.1, unless you really want more advanced gaming feature support...

(I'm also going to mention the Razer Krait as an option, it certainly is their smallest mouse, but only 3 buttons makes it worthless for me, if that's fine for you then look into it).

Best Buy didn't have the G9 yet. I might drop by Microcenter later today to see if they have it, of if they have any Razers out on display.

As far as the G3, it seems to only have one thumb button :(. I forgot to mention it, but I like having two thumb buttons.

If you want a smallish gaming mouse, look into the Copperhead or Diamondback. They're wired, but they're also supposed to be some of the best mice on the market.
