Looking for a small mp3 player

Hey, I'm looking for a small mp3 player like the old diamond ones. However, every one I've seen lately is the size of a regular disc man. I know those have storage advantages by being able to read off of cds, but I'd really like a smaller one for when I'm running and stuff. What I'm wondering is first of all, is there any company still making the small ones and if so how much are? Lastly, is there any difference in sound quality or power output from the smaller ones to the new ones? I'll be using a pair of Grado S60s and probably some Sennhieser Ear Buds.

The ones that are the size of discman are probably the jukebox ones. They are good because they hold at least 6 gigs (or more), by using a regular laptop hard drive. If you want a small one pretty much any of the others look good. The ipaq pa-2? looks small, I might look into it, but people also recommend the intel one quite a bit. I am not an expert, but I think most of teh new ones are pretty small and decent quality.

why not get the rio500 or a nomad II? their pretty small and can fit a couple hours of music.

I bought the RCA Lyra 2, It uses Compact flash memory up to 128 megs, the reason I did'nt get the Rio is that the Lyra 2 has FM radio built in.
Only one other has the FM Radio and that is the Intel model.
The Lyra 2 comes with 64 megs of ram.
I get about 54 songs on it a the lower quality which sounds pretty damm good in my opinion.
Comes with headphones, cassete adapter, and flash reader and software, it uses Musicmatch which I already have and use to burm my MP3 songs to disk or memory card.

I had a nomad 2 awhile back, I liked it a lot, and yes it has the fm radio too, might want to check that out.

The new RioOne is also very nice for the price. It uses Smart Media, so you can scale it up to 128MB extra plus the 32mb internal memory. It sells for $100.

The Nomad II MG is really tiny, way smaller than my regular Nomad II. Nice phones, by the way-- I've got a pair of Grados myself, but I don't use them with my Nomad, since I don't like to jog with them.
