Micky D did design the F-15A/C/E. Northrop designed the YF-17(later to become the F/A-18), and I believe McDonnell Douglas salvaged what was left of the YF-17. Northrop bought Grumman(F-14).
I'm all confused now. However...the point is Boeing makes kick ass planes

But I get what you're saying...stealing designs from other companies...and calling them they're own, those bastards!!
BTW...the F-16A/C kicks MUCHO ARSE! I really wish they would've gone ahead and developed the F-16XL. Supposedly the same payload capability as the F-15E! With the PW-220E engines, the F-15E sucks donkey balls. My favorite planes included the McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II, the Grumman F-14D, and of course, the F-16C Block 52. The F-15E with PW-229 Engines is also one of my favs
The block 40 was the upgrade that transformed the F-16 into a good multi-role aircraft. However, the VERY FIRST aircraft to be truly multi-role from the design stage to production stage, was the F/A-18. Who cares though...Block 52 gave the F-16 B40/42 uprated engines, and will lay waste to the F/A-18! Well that's what I like to think anyways...the F-16 is all digital, therefore it has hard coded limitations. The F/A-18 is supreme at the low speed regime, whereas the F-16 isn't so good. The F-16 though, is still one of the most agile birds in service and the benchmark for most of the 5th generation fighters.
