Looking for a simple camcorder with external Mic input

My wife has to find a camcorder that will be mostly used to record occasionnal presentations. The main requirement is to be able to record good sound. So noises from zooming and autofocus are out. A separate microphone seems to be the solution, so a Mic input on the camera is necessary.

We have found a Sony model for $800 (HDR-CX300), but this seems to be too much for the intended use. I have also found the Kodak Zi8 for $180:

But the lack of analog zoom and optical anti-shake, as well as weak low-light/interior performance make this a bit too low-end.

The camera has to record to flash memory. Full HD is not needed.

Maybe someone is aware of a better compromise?

Canon FS200 for $300 for SD
Canon Vixia HF R100 for $499 for HD

Both shoot to SDHC and have a 3.5mm jack for audio.

I have the FS200. It's a good camcorder. Can be found for as little as $250.
It has a variable speed zoom, anti shake (you should be using a tripod anyway) and ok low light performance.

One thing about these camcorders with 3.5mm audio jacks. Some aren't pre-amped, so if you're mic isn't the audio will be low.

OK, just to report that my wife bought the Canon FS200 today, and that your suggestions were put to good use. Thanks!
