I’m trying to find a new Wi-Fi router that 1: has detachable antenna
2: Has a SIM card slot and is compatible with either Verizon or total wireless.

Verizon or total wireless.
Well, that just depends on the modem you put into it.

I've done some research on this recently before diving in to TMHI which is actually performing pretty well with their provided gateway that I ripped apart and added some antennas to before even plugging it in and testing the connection.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/-/3256804088624335.html $36

Only issue here is you need to hook it up to WIFI using USB since it's not capable on its own.

Another option is a PCI card you would put into a PC and could share the connection over the network. But if i'm reading between the lines here you want something similar to a router you would pick up at a store for WIFI and just add LTE/5G as an option.

https://www.4gltemall.com/ -- great resource to get ideas / model numbers and find cheaper somewhere else
https://www.4gltemall.com/5g/5g-cpe.html?dir=asc&limit=24&order=price - 5G options starting at $400
https://www.4gltemall.com/4g-wireless-router.html - LTE starting at $50

Now if you want to get nerdy with it then buy an empty box with the slot for the modem to fit into and pick your own modem to use with VZW. There's also the option of using the USB style modems and connecting it to a port on the traditional router and using it that was as well.

My advice is to into verizon and get something on there approved list.
What you want is a Mobile Hotspot Device.
Most of these devices will not have a detachable antenna, but since its mobile, you can move it to an ideal location with the best possible reception, and then have the Wifi carry you the rest of the way.

I recommend you get it directly from Verizon, because ive had 3rd party hotspot units randomly disconnect, or have activation issues.
So save yourself the headache, and goto the store and get a authorized hotspot device.
