Looking for a SILENT case and fans

Sorry if this has been posted before.

Currently, I am using a SOHO case (w/ 3 fans). This s**t is really really noisy and I need to replace with a silent one ASAP.

I am considering Cooler Master and Lian Li PC-6070. I'm also looking for a real quite fan, in which I'm not sure what kind of fan does Dell use for their Desktops. It seems noiseless at all.

Vantec Stealth fans are very good IMO.

self adjusting is bs.unless u can set temps at which speeds change, they are pointless. they don't scale in small increments, but bump speed at maybe 3 points, whcih u'll probably never trip temp sensor stuff needs to be engineered as part of the entire setup

SilenX has fans of 14 dBA or less. Kinda unbelievable but I'm going to try them out soon. Tell you guys what I think later.

The cheapest way to make your current case silent is simple. Replace all your fans (case, powersupply, and CPU) with Panaflo 80mm L1A's. Then hook them up to a rheobus or Zalman fanmate and run them at 7-9V (I suggest 9V for the CPU fan and 7V for everything else).

Antec Sonata or SLK3700BQE, swap the antec 120mm's for Panaflo, Pabst or someone else who makes quality low rpm 120mm fans. I think Dell use NMB (Nippon Miniature Bearing), not seen any 120mm fans by them but the choice of fans is PANTS in UK (and anything decent is a ripoff).

Lian Li PC-6070B. Its very quiet, with sound dapening material on the sides, and bottom. 3 80mm fans, and a rubber sided front door. Very quiet. Check out some reviews, its a great case.

I like the antec sonata for a quiet case. I also like the antec aria for sff case that is rated as very, very quiet. I have finally managed to silence my TT Xaser II by putting it in a server room at work with 20 other louder boxes. Can't hardly hear it now.

I'm going to be getting the same case myself, my friend just got one, along with a Super Lanboy, and I was VERY impressed with the 3700bqe, it's so quiet!

The only thing I really hear from my 3700BQE is the retail Intel fan. Other than that, it's very quiet.

You should go with the Antec Sonata, I'm running it, it comes with an extremely silent 120mm fan at the rear and has space for another 120mm at the front. It's an extremely quiet case and very stily also. Check it out:

If you want to make your current system run quieter, try replacing your smaller 80mm fans with larger 120mm fans. They are proven to have lower noise levels compared to 80mm fans. If you're looking for a whole new case, the Lian Li PC-6070 has had the lowest noise levels I have seen yet. Check out the review PC-6070.

Other hardware like CPU heat sink fan and power supply fans can also add to the noise levels so you may want to look into that also.

Search for Compucase LX 6A19 at directron.com cost $39. Add 2 -120mm Vantec Stealth fans = real quite & real cool temps.

I've looked at the pictures of the SLK3700BQE on newegg. Looks promising. Question: Is there room in front of the drive cage for a second fan? 120mm?

Good review, although missing the answer to one question:
Anyone know how easy it is to remove at the front air filter, for cleaning? Is there something simple to pull out or do you have to go unscrewing things or even having to take the front off?

The entire front bezel easily comes off.

I put the Antec 120x25 exhaust fan up front (it needs to be 25mm to fit) and bought a Panaflow for the exhaust. Cool and quiet.

Cool review. It also says (about the front), "There is only enough clearance to mount a 25mm thick fan here, a 38mm fan (such as the Panaflo 120L1A) will not fit."

That pretty well elliminates the obvious choices. Anybody know where I can find a quiet 120x25? Most sites (Newegg) don't list the fan thickness. Any leads (2, 3 or 4 ) appreciated.
