Greetings.

Here is my issue. I am looking to build a few new servers and they are going to be put in some 2u rack cases. I am looking for a some recomendations on good AMD based boards that are HIGHLY INTEGRATED. What I would like to have would be a 10/100 ethernet (intel?), video hardware, and ATA 100 or ATA Raid interfaces on a small ATX formfactor board. Basically, I need to be able to get these things going without using any PCI cards.

Any thoughts??

Thanks in Advance

The last couple of machines I built at work used the MSI K7N420 Pro, which uses the nVidia nForce 420D chipset. One of them is a workstation running Win2K, while the other runs as a server under Linux. It took a while for nVidia to make a network driver available for Linux, but it's available now. The Win2K box has had everything running from the beginning. The boards include built-in Ethernet, built-in GeForce 2MX graphics (way more than you need for a server, but hey...), dual ATA100 IDE ports, and more. You could build a server just by adding a processor, memory, power, and a hard drive.

(I think the Tyan Thunder K7 has on-board everything as well (onboard dual 3Com NICs, too), plus it's a dual-processor board. They're kinda spendy, and you didn't say if you need SMP.)

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at the boards. These things will be running Linux, so the new driver for the Nvidia Chipset is important.
