Looking for a SCSI HD for my Adaptec AHA-2930

I've got a Adaptec AHA-2930, and I thought it would be cool to get a SCSI hard drive for a change. This way I can free up an IDE slot for another optical drive if I needed one. What would be the best drive I could get to go with that SCSI card? I am not very SCSI oriented, so I don't know much about the difference SCSI types, and what goes with what. Thanks for your help!

The controller you have is a 50 pin Ultra SCSI, with a data transfer rate of 20MB/sec. AHA-2930. Seagate has some nice Ultra SCSI HDD that would work well with your controller, such as the Barracuda. Ultra SCSI is kinda old these days, so purchasing a 50 pin Ultra SCSI HDD such as the Barracuda should be very reasonable.

How much space are you looking for? i have a 2GB Ultra SCSI drive, with a cable if youre intrested.

I assume you're looking for more real estate than that though. I'm not sure how big they made Ultra SCSI drives. i know that 2GB & 4GB were common. i saw a 9GB one too, but it was 5.25" full height (yuck!)

edit: according to the post above me, they make 36GB baracudas in the 50pin form factor.
but, im guessing the baracuda U160 is probably the same (or near same) price as a 50pin drive. plus, you would have 8x the bandwidth with a U160 drive&card. I just see it as a waste, because the drive is superior to the card.

I definitely need drive at least with 4GB capacity. 9GB would be the ideal size.

So Ultra SCSI are the interface I need, right? Please recommend some drives, that will be great!
