I'd rather get Retail (feel more comfortable) sense it's my first ever build and I don't overclock

I just bought an OEM E6300 from TigerDirect. It's "Shipped". I cancelled my pre-order with shopblt for the E6600. I'm sick of waiting. 🙂 It'll still be many times faster than my 2.4 Northwood... and it'll definitely get me through to when supply starts to meet demand, at which point I can pick up an E6600 and sell the 6300.

I'm getting an Intel HSF to go with it... would be nice to have the case sticker too, but I'm sure those will start appearing on eBay soon enough.

I also ordered an OEM E6300 from TigerDirect after cancelling my E6300 order from ZZF. I ordered the retail E6300 from ZZF at 6am PST when it showed in stock but when I called they said all their Core 2's won't ship until Aug 7th.
